The Bosch Exxcel Freestanding Fridge Freezer KGH34X is a large upright, American-style combination, which fits in perfectly to any modern family home. Due to its size it is most suited to larger families with children, but anyone should be able to benefit from it. This Bosch Exxcel fridge freezer is available as three different models, the KGH34X05GB which is in white, the KGH34X45GB in a stainless steel finish, and the KGH34X50GB in black.

The Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X has a number of great features including the anti-bacterial protection that lines the interior walls. This prevents germs from getting on to the food that is chilling in the fridge, and can help reduce the risk of catching viruses.
Bosch has made the most of the 186 litres of space available in the fridge as it provides three glass shelves for storing food, two vegetable crisper drawers, an upper dairy shelf in the side door, and a bottle rack. Whilst you might not need so many different compartments, most can be easily removed to leave a more open space.
In the event of a power cut, one of the biggest problems is the freezer, which can start defrosting pretty quickly, leaving your frozen food a mushy mess. Not only does this mean you don’t have any food left, it could also mean a significant monetary loss. The Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X has found a way to prevent this by keeping frozen food frozen for 14 hours after the power has been turned off.
Advantages
The biggest advantage to the Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X is its design, as it has a huge capacity in both the fridge and freezer areas, making it ideal for large families, or just those that do a large monthly shop. The exterior is also very attractive, and as it is available in white, black, and a stainless steel finish, this combo appliance should fold in with the colour schemes of the majority of kitchens.
Other plus points about this fridge freezer are the easy to clean interior and exterior, it is also on roller castors which means that owners can simply move it around to clean behind. There is nothing worse than moving a fridge after a number of years to find all sorts of things growing behind it. The Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X gives you no excuse.
This model from Bosch has very low energy consumption which should prove to be beneficial to anybody, but again particularly to larger families who will face higher electricity bills than most.
Bosch is a name associated with high quality kitchen appliances, and this fridge freezer does not disappoint. You can immediately tell that the build and materials are top of the range, and if you are not satisfied you should be able to get up to a four year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Disadvantages
To be honest there are few complaints about the Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X but there will always be some minor gripes that could be improved upon. The biggest complaint is that switching the reversible door can be quite difficult to do and the instruction manual provided is not much help as the diagrams are numbered in the incorrect order. However, with a bit of time and faffing around you should be able to manage it (should you want to that is).
This next gripe is not specific to the Bosch Exxcel Fridge Freezer KGH34X as it happens on a number of appliances with a multi-flow air system. If you close the freezer door with a bit of force, the fridge door pops open, or vice versa. Bosch does mention it in the handbook but this does not resolve the annoying issue. Something to keep in mind.
Both the fridge and the freezer have large capacities but the wine rack provided does take up a lot of valuable space, and doesn’t actually provide much storage for wine. You might find it more viable to remove the wine rack if you require plenty of fridge space. The other storage complaint is the lack of a high quality egg tray in the fridge door.

There is a slight design flaw with the bottom freezer drawer on all three Bosch Exxcel models as it falls out of the freezer far too easily. It seems to be missing some sort of retainer that ensures it stays in place. The best price we could find it at is £397.00 from Appliances Online. This fridge offers a lot of room and is designed well. I really love the door handles which are really convenient. I also love the storage the storage of the door. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this freezer.
I purchased the Bosch Exxcel KGH34X05GB about a year ago. It works great. It is easy to clean and has great lighting. Plus we are heavy eaters and it provides the space we need so that we don’t have to run to the grocery store every other day.
I also love that it comes on roller castors which make it easy to move when you need to clean behind it and under it. This fridge freezer was made with users in mind.
